Chrome extension
Install the free WriteHow extension, record any tab and just talk it through — AI writes the guide, captures and annotates the screenshots, auto-blurs sensitive data, translates into 50+ languages, and publishes it to your help center.
From a browser tab to a published how-to guide in three steps — no manual screenshots, no writing.
Add WriteHow to Chrome (or Edge/Brave) and pin it. No account needed to try.
Hit record and do the task while you talk it through. The extension captures your clicks, screenshots, and narration.
AI writes the step-by-step article, annotates the screenshots, blurs sensitive data, and you publish it anywhere.
All the WriteHow magic, right inside your browser.
Every step is captured and annotated automatically as you click — no snipping tool required.
Advanced speech-to-text and image analysis turn your recording into clear, formatted instructions.
Passwords, emails, cards, and tokens are automatically masked before anything is saved.
Translate any guide into 50+ languages and keep every version in sync.
Send guides straight to Zendesk, Notion, Confluence & GitBook — formatted for each.
Install free and create your first guides at no cost. Upgrade only when you need more.
The extension only captures while you have an active recording running and you've granted permission. It records the page you're documenting (clicks, navigation, screenshots, and — with permission — your microphone for narration). It does not track your browsing, take screenshots, or record audio outside of a recording you start. Before anything is saved, it can automatically drop password fields and mask sensitive data, and you can blur any area of a screenshot. See our Privacy Policy.
